Romans 7:6

But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code. Romans 7:6 NIV

Hi Nadine,
I just popped over to catch up on your blog and I wanted you to know that as soon as I am done typing you this bit of encouragement I will be lifting you up to the Lord :). We know what you and your husband are going through! I don't blog about it because it would offend my family terribly but we are going through a really tough time as well, knowing the "truth" about certain issues but wondering how strong of a stance we should be taking on them, especially where family is concerned. (In fact, if you read my post last week, that's what the "tense" phone call was about ;)). My family is very involved in their church and all of their tithe goes there. Their church is also pro-choice (the higher up you get, especially) but my mom says it is O.K. to give the church their money because they pray about it first. I understand what she's thinking but one way or another, even if it is just by freeing up other money to go to the apportionments, her money is condoning abortion. That is just one small example of where we are differing from my parents (My husbands parents have both already disowned him a couple of years ago over religion, when he became a christian and wouldn't allow dirtytalk, etc. around thegirls anymore). There are also issues along the lines of ourgirls being told and modeled things that we don't believe at all (big families talked badly about, immodesty being pretty much glossed over, that sort of thing)!
I thought the resignation letter written by that one couple was just beautiful, that was truly the truth spoken in love as Paul modeled.
I also read your post on motherhood and your family's approaching "birthday" =). I know exactly how you feel =). We are now 32 weeks and I have hit that point where I am just as sad that this pregnancy is almost over (I love being pregnant =)) as I am anxious for him to get here =). Him, doesn't that sound odd =)?
Anyway, dear sister in Christ, I just wanted you to know that I am standing with you, even though we have never *met* =). Keep your face to the Son and don't let anyone turn away your gaze. You must only follow Him, not a denomination, not a person, not even yourself! Just HIM!
"The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious to thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace."
Numbers 6:24-26
